Aleksandra Los is the founder and driving force behind TrueMe — an AI-powered lifestyle app tackling one of today’s most pressing emotional challenges: loneliness. With a background in blockchain, privacy tech, and personal development, Aleksandra is on a mission to create emotionally intelligent AI that fosters real connection — starting with the self. In this interview, she opens up about the deeply personal story behind TrueMe, her view on the future of AI and mental wellness, and how her team is building human-first technology in an increasingly automated world.

Aleksandra, what inspired you to create TrueMe?

The idea for TrueMe came from a personal place. I spent years struggling with an eating disorder and deep loneliness — I used to run obsessively every morning, thinking I could escape the pain. Eventually, doctors warned me I might end up in a wheelchair if I didn’t stop. That forced me to shift. I turned to yoga and meditation and began a journey inward. I realized I didn’t really like myself — or even know who I truly was underneath all the striving and performance.

Self-love wasn’t about affirmations or success. It was about choosing myself, again and again. Learning to listen to my emotions, take care of my needs, and trust my inner wisdom. And that’s when I knew: this process of building emotional connection with yourself — it’s a habit. And like any habit, it can be learned.

That became the foundation of TrueMe. We’re building a platform that helps people form the most important habit of all: connecting with themselves emotionally. From that place, they can then connect with others — and that’s how we begin to solve loneliness at scale.

What stage is TrueMe at now?

We’ve built our core foundations — the behavioral engine, the privacy-first data architecture, and the early engagement systems. Right now we’re preparing for our next stage of development and fundraising, while continuing to test and refine our product experience with early users. This is not just an app — it’s an ecosystem of emotional resilience, powered by AI and rooted in humanity.

What major trends do you see shaping your space?

Two big ones. First, we’re witnessing a societal split. On one side, there's a growing obsession with tech, novelty, and performance. On the other, people are leaving it all behind and turning to nature, simplicity, and meaning. That tension is driving a massive personal development movement.

Second, the AI landscape is evolving rapidly — multimodal models, open-source initiatives like LLaMA, edge AI, and XLLMs are changing how people engage with technology. But most AI products still feel transactional or isolating. They don’t help people become more human. That’s what TrueMe aims to change. We’re using AI to help people build habits of self-connection, grow emotionally, and ultimately thrive.

What sets TrueMe apart?

We don’t offer quick fixes or dopamine hits. Instead, we use AI to deliver hyper-personalized, habit-forming journeys that evolve based on how users engage. It’s not one-size-fits-all. It’s a living system that adapts to who you are and what you need.

We’re also deeply committed to privacy. As a blockchain specialist, this is personal. We anonymize all user data, use third-party logins to avoid storing emails, and apply cryptographic techniques to protect user identity. We don’t sell data — we use it to empower users. And this gives us a foundation for B2G collaborations around behavioral insights, which is a future direction we’re exploring.

Who is your ideal early user — are you targeting specific age groups, life stages, or mental health personas?

We’re starting with millennials in the UK and US — people already using AI tools like ChatGPT to talk about their emotions. This segment is interesting: 61% report feeling lonely at least once a week, and they’re already tracking their steps, sleep, and productivity with smart devices. They’re digitally fluent and often work remotely, but they’re still seeking deeper emotional growth and in-person connection.

In short, our early users are tech-curious, self-aware, a little isolated, and ready to do the inner work.

What does a typical user journey inside TrueMe look like?

From day one, users are welcomed by the TrueMe Coach — a calming, chat-based companion that checks in every 8 hours for the first 7 days to build an emotional baseline. All data stays on-device and is fully anonymized.

After that, they unlock a 28-day Growth Journey with personalized micro-practices and local event suggestions matched to their emotional patterns. The experience is adaptive, supportive, and designed to gently move users from isolation toward self-connection and offline community.

What does monetization look like for TrueMe?

We offer two simple B2C models: pay-once Growth Journeys and a monthly or annual subscription with full access to all content and 24/7 Coach support — no ads, no data sales.

Beyond that, we’re building out B2G and B2R tracks.

B2G: We’re also building privacy-safe dashboards for governments and NGOs, using anonymized data to track loneliness trends and support public health decisions.

B2R: Long-term, our aggregated data helps train emotionally intelligent AI — like robots in elder care or education — without ever compromising user privacy.

What’s your daily routine like under high stress?

Discipline is my anchor. I start every morning at 5:30 with yoga — it grounds me and calms my nervous system. I go to bed by 10 p.m. and never bring my phone into the bedroom. That separation is essential for rest.

But the most powerful tool I use comes from a book called The Tools by Phil Stutz. When I feel like giving up, I ask myself: “If I were on my deathbed, what would I say to myself if I quit now?” That question snaps me back into purpose. It reminds me why I’m doing this, and what’s at stake — not just for me, but for everyone who needs what we’re building.

How do you build your team?

For me, the basics like domain expertise are a given. Beyond that, I prioritize honesty, transparency, and motivation. I want to work with people who are deeply aligned with the mission — not just intellectually, but emotionally. People who care.

One of my favorite filters is: “Would I go camping with this person?” It sounds silly, but it reveals a lot. Are they adaptable? Respectful? Can we rely on each other under pressure? That’s the kind of energy that builds resilient teams — and ultimately, resilient products.

TrueMe team
Have you faced industry pushback on your approach?

Yes — especially around how we treat data. Many platforms are built to extract and monetize user data. We take the opposite approach. At TrueMe, everything is anonymized, including in our AI models. We don’t collect email addresses. Our goal is not to target users with ads, but to empower them with insights.

We also make our system regulation-ready — GDPR, public-private key cryptography, elliptic curve encryption — we’re laying a foundation that protects users while unlocking real sociological insights. And that positions us uniquely for meaningful B2G partnerships.

What’s the long-term vision?

We’re building more than an app — we’re building emotionally intelligent AI that truly understands human behavior. Our next step is to develop a TrueMe wearable or partner with existing ones, so we can track physical signals, emotional states, and in-person interactions. That creates a 360-degree view of the user — and allows us to offer real-time, deeply personalized support.

Imagine waking up and your digital coach knows what you need: whether it’s stillness, movement, connection, or rest. That’s the world we’re building — where tech doesn’t replace your intuition, but strengthens it. Where AI helps you become more you.

What would success look like for you in 3 years personally as a founder?

Success would be waking up three years from now, sitting with the same five-person dream team I have today — but doing it from a studio in Silicon Valley, surrounded by the frontier AI community.

I want clear evidence that TrueMe has reduced loneliness at scale. And I want this platform, and the capital behind it, to open more doors for women who are building at the intersection of AI and emotional health.

Have you had any experience raising capital for TrueMe or any of your past projects? Do you plan to raise funds for TrueMe, and what are your goals for that round?

Yes — we closed a friends-and-family pre-seed in February 2025 and bootstrapped most of the journey since. Now, we’re raising a $670K pre-seed extension. That round will help us complete our proprietary NLP models, launch the community layer, and run GTM pilots with therapists and wellbeing partners. It gives us about 18 months of runway to hit 50K MAUs and be ready for a strong $4–5M seed.
