The idea for inTruth came from my lifelong commitment to advancing emotional intelligence and mental health. My career started in the non-profit sector, where I focused on creating systemic changes in mental health. However, I realized that these solutions, while impactful, weren’t scalable.
That realization led me to explore the intersection of technology and emotion. I spent a year traveling the world to study biomarkers that could measure emotional states. During that time, I identified heart rate variability (HRV) as the most reliable and accessible way to track emotions. inTruth was born from this research — our platform doesn’t just measure emotions but provides actionable insights to help people enhance their well-being and decision-making.
At inTruth, we’re not just offering data; we’re providing a pathway to greater self-awareness and growth. Most wearable tech focuses on fitness or physical health, but we are pioneering emotional intelligence. Our technology goes beyond numbers on a screen—it interprets emotional patterns and delivers actionable insights to empower users.
What sets us apart is our focus on creating Emotion General Intelligence (EGI). While artificial intelligence drives much of today’s tech innovation, we’re parallelly developing tools that enable individuals to understand, process, and optimize their emotional states. This dual approach is vital to both personal evolution and the broader societal impact.
The biggest challenge was moving to San Francisco and immersing myself in the tech ecosystem. It was a significant leap — leaving behind the familiarity of my home in Australia, my support network, and my career in mental health advocacy. San Francisco is incredibly competitive, and as an outsider, I had to work hard to build relationships and establish credibility.
Beyond personal challenges, there was skepticism about our vision. Emotion tracking through wearable devices isn’t an easy concept to sell, especially when it’s ahead of its time. But I’ve always believed that emotional intelligence is key to solving humanity’s biggest challenges, and that belief has kept me grounded.
The future of emotional health and technology is being reshaped by a blend of personalization, integration, and accessibility. Emotional health tools are becoming increasingly personalized, offering insights that adapt to an individual’s unique patterns and provide real-time support tailored to their needs. This personalization is deeply intertwined with the integration of emotional intelligence into various aspects of life, such as productivity tools and social platforms, making emotional well-being an essential part of our daily routines.
Accessibility is another critical shift. Emotional health technology is gradually becoming more affordable and widespread, enabling a broader audience to benefit from these advancements. Furthermore, there’s a growing emphasis on viewing emotional health as a form of preventative care rather than something addressed only in times of crisis. This paradigm shift is fostering a proactive approach to emotional well-being, fundamentally changing how society engages with mental and emotional health.
My ultimate goal is to redefine how humanity understands and engages with emotions. I envision a future where emotional intelligence is as integral to daily life as physical health. With inTruth, we’re creating tools that empower people to connect with themselves and others on a deeper level.
Our technology is just the beginning. Beyond wearables, we aim to influence education, workplace culture, and even policy, promoting a world where emotional intelligence drives decisions and relationships. It’s an ambitious goal, but I believe inTruth is a catalyst for this transformation.
Yes, I have experience raising capital for inTruth Technologies and other ventures in my career. To date, we’ve successfully raised 3.8M AUD, and we’re currently in the process of raising a 2M AUD bridge round to provide a runway through to April next year when we anticipate securing a 9M AUD research grant.
Our current cap table includes one venture capital firm, with the majority of funding coming from high-net-worth individuals who are aligned with our vision and values.
I’m always interested in opening up conversations with values-aligned investors, as inTruth is not just a business — it's a movement to revolutionize emotional health through pioneering technology. For our next round, we aim to attract partners who share our commitment to innovation, user empowerment, and making a meaningful impact. Our primary goal for this round is to fuel growth by scaling our team, advancing our technology, and launching pilots in key verticals, positioning us for our Series A in mid 2026.
If you're interested in exploring a partnership, I’d love to connect and discuss how we can align our missions!
